The guide also motivates consumers to use visitcalifornia.com for more detailed trip planning. CTTC produces and distributes 500,000 guides each year.

The 2009 Visitor’s Guide featured engaging and interactive content celebrating the California lifestyle and experience, while inviting the reader to participate. Articles covered distinctive lifestyle, romance, family fun, trip ideas, cultural diversity, wine and food, outdoor recreation, indulgence and adventure. The guide also carried the California Official State Map, a planning resource for potential visitors that points out useful highlights and trip ideas. The Visitor’s Guide is completely self-sustaining, supported through advertising and newsstand sales.
