Reaching Households Worldwide

CTTC embarked on an unprecedented endeavor to bring California into more than 150 million homes across the world. Created in a unique co-op campaign with BBC World, "Cutting Edge California" is a six-part factual series that aims to influence and transform global perceptions of California. Reaching beyond sun, surf and movie stars, this series showcases California’s many cutting edge innovations, from food, architecture and technology to natural resources.

The series also features in-depth interviews with Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, which adds extra depth and interest to the program. "Cutting Edge California" was directed by Michael Attwell, a British Academy of Film and Television Arts-nominated director, and narrated by rising Hollywood star James McAvoy.

The series aired twice globally on BBC World, driving consumers to a dedicated "Cutting Edge California" microsite. The campaign also featured vignettes and branded trailers, extending reach and visibility (trailers alone carried a global media value of nearly $3 million).
