In 2009–2010, CTTC will continue to expand on the success of the Official California State Visitor’s Guide and Travel Planner (CVG), California’s premium print publication and primary distribution piece of collateral, available each January. The CVG is also the primary advertising vehicle for the industry to reach prospective visitors, with 500,000 distribution, and is the primary vehicle for the Official State Map (OSM), with one million distribution. CTTC research has found that while many consumers use the Web to do their trip planning, they still rely on a print piece during their trip.
The third main publication, California Road Trips, is under the same scrutiny as cooperative promotions. CTTC will determine if there will be enough industry participation to continue Road Trips, and conduct research to determine its value to the industry during the recessionary climate. CTTC will also conduct research on the OSM and how to better integrate it into the Web site, as well as research regarding geographic distribution of CVG requests. Success of all CTTC publications is measured through distribution, as well as partner satisfaction. |
